Collaborations

I share studio space with my neighbor Tom and we like to collaborate on projects. We often "play games"where one of us will paint for a while, then hand the piece over to the other artist, alternating back and forth until we both decide the piece is done. Blending styles with another artist has been challenging and rewarding.

We each try to retain our individuality and unique approach to each piece. At the same time, we both seek to blend our styles in a sort of "dance," with some pretty incredible results. The untitled piece above is our first collaborative effort. Differences between Tom's brushstrokes and mine are obvious, yet the styles don't clash or disrupt each other. Instead, we worked to support each other's efforts, with a successful result to show.
